Heart Surgery
Heart surgery is a procedure to treat heart problems. Open-heart surgery is one way surgeons can reach the heart. Open-heart surgery requires opening the chest wall to make the heart easier for the surgeon to reach. To access the heart, surgeons cut through the sternum (breastbone) and spread the ribs.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru initiated the project of B L Kapur Super Specialty hospital in the year 1956. Initially, the then prime minister of India sent an Invitation to Dr. B L Kapur to build up a 200-bed hospital in Delhi. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated it on 2 January 1959.
The hospital is well equipped with departments such as General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Plastic Surgery, Orthopedic, ENT, Neuro Surgery etc. Its facilities include all the investigation and testing services like Laboratory, Blood Bank, E.C.G, Radiology, Colposcopy, Ultrasonography & T.M.T. etc.
Its wide expanse of facilities comes with total patient safety and hygiene. Its OPD is spread on two floors with 60 consultation rooms. It has 17 state of the art operation theatres. Along with this it maintains a 3-stage air filtration and gas scavenging system to enable total cleanliness. It also has centers of excellence in various fields like cancer center, bone marrow transplant, neurosciences, renal sciences center, and heart center.
